BEAVERS

Beaver Scouts are childen usually aged between five and seven years old. They belong to the first and youngest Section in the Scouting family. Boys and girls can join Beavers on entering Kindergarten, through to Grade Two.

Easily recognised by their distinctive brown vests and hats, Beaver Scouts enjoy making friends, playing games, going on visits and helping others. They  meet together once a week in a Beaver Scout Colony. The colony is split into smaller groups called lodges. There is one leader for every five Beavers.

Beaver activities can include sleepovers, winter camps, trips to museums and theatres, climbing and canoeing. All overnight activities require one parent or guardian to attend. Beavers meet 6.30pm - 7.30pm at Ecole Percy Peglar Elementary School.

The Beaver program is built around a lively variety of games, crafts, music, storytelling, playacting, spiritual fellowship and the outdoors. Beaver activities stress cooperation and teamwork, and can involve the whole family.

The outdoors is an essential part of the Beaver program. Weekend events, picnics, short nature hikes and family based camping opportunities round out the Beaver experience.
